There are around 2,700 different types of Fungus in the New Forest.I think it might be a little while before they all appear here!

Here is a selection i have found on my travels so far.

Please note im am no expert in this area and have done the best i can (with a little help from some friends) to name them,so please forgive me if there are any errors.

Red Deer

The Red Deer of the New Forest, though the biggest of all British deer species, are also elusive and comparatively few in number (numbers are kept to about 100, with an annual cull carried out by the Forestry Commission).

The open heathland around the Burley area and Ober Heath, near Brockenhurst, are good places to see these majestic animals that are more associated with the highlands of Scotland than southern England. The deer are most active at dawn and dusk.During the Rut the bucks can be heard making a very distinctive and throaty roaring noise, but for most of the year are not very vocal. Fights between bucks during the rut can be fierce and sometimes fatal.

New Forest Donkeys

The New Forest donkeys are some of the best-loved animals in the National Park. There are far fewer donkeys than ponies - only around 100 are turned-out on the Forest compared with over 4,000 ponies - but they are often seen roaming in the villages where they are a popular visitor attraction.

Donkeys are smaller and generally more docile than New Forest ponies. They are extremely hardy and can survive on the Forest all year round without having to be returned to the commoners’ holdings over winter.
